About

I was born in 1961 in Umeå and grew up in Västergötland, in a small town called Tibro. Since the early 1980s, I have been working as a freelance musician, with drums as my primary instrument.

I spent many years living in Malmö, during which time I played extensively in Denmark. Those were incredibly important years—I had the opportunity to perform a great deal with fantastic musicians and bands. The more time passes, the more I realize just how significant those years were.

Since 2007, I have been based in Stockholm, where I have established my musical foundation. In addition to my freelance work, I am involved with Kopasetic Productions, a musician collective that releases CDs, organizes concerts, festivals, and more.

I currently lead a couple groups and projects:

Below are some earlier projects.
LED, which performed my arrangements of Led Zeppelin’s music.
Meloscope, a quartet playing my own compositions.
Lundin Danemo Kvintett, a group I ran together with my good friend Fredrik Lundin. It featured the Swedish Jazz legend and trumpet player Jan Allan.
Peter Danemo Kapell, en nonett som spelar min musik.

Additionally, I also work as a sideman and regularly perform with Lina Nyberg, Joakim Milder, Karl-Martin Almqvist, Robert Nordmark, Christian Spering, Örjan Hultén, Jonas Östholm, and many others.

In recent years, I have increasingly taken on work as a composer and arranger. Throughout 2015, I was Composer in Residence for Norrbotten Big Band. I have also written arrangements for Tromsø Chamber Orchestra, Norrbotten Big Band, Oulu All Star Big Band, Blue House Jazz All Stars, and others.
