Meloscope Deluxe is, as the name suggests, an extended version of the Meloscope quartet. The highly respected and well-known musicians in the classical world—Staffan Mårtensson (clarinet), Henrik Frendin (viola), and the late Mats Rondin (cello)—bring their own interpretation of Meloscope’s music, often as a reflection, sometimes as a shadow or a hint of something else.
The composed and improvised music exists in relief, with roles occasionally shifting. The best of both worlds meet, without either side compromising its identity or tone. New music, largely based on Meloscope’s improvisations, performed by a collection of Sweden’s top musicians in their respective fields.
